Mondays in March at the Museum

Preschool (3-6yo)
*Mondays, 11am - 12pm.
*Child must be accompanied by a ONE-ON-ONE adult to foster bonding moments & collaboration.

Mar. 5: “BIG PRAIRIE SKY” create a beautiful prairie “sky  theater” masterpiece.
Mar. 12: “DREAM CATCHER” learn about and make your own paper plate dream catcher for home.
Mar. 19: “STORY QUILT” piece together your own story for a totally unique wall hanging.
Mar. 26: “PRAIRIE GRASS DIORAMA” use paper and glue to create a lovely prairie grassland scene.

School Age (K-6th)
*Mondays, 3:30 - 4:30pm.
*Wear clothing for painting and gluing!

Mar. 5: “RAG DOLLS” using scraps of materials, create a boy or girl doll in pioneer tradition.
Mar. 12: “NATIVE AMERICAN TIPIS” using textured paper and sand, “paint” a tipi in the sunset.
Mar. 19: “POTATO PRINTS” a classic pioneer child art form for printing stationery and envelopes.
Mar. 26: “BEADED NECKLACE” form your own clay beads and string together a Native American necklace.

KIDS HISTORY CAMP

Old fashioned games and crafts, old time chores, campfire popped popcorn, a one-room schoolhouse experience, exploration of the village and more!  Bring a sack lunch and attend a one-day session, held at the Brown County Fairgrounds Centennial Village.  Registration forms can also be found at the museum.

 

Time: 9 am – 3 pm  Fee: $15
Register: Print and fill out form,
return to DPM with registration fees.

KIDS ART CAMP

Inspiration awaits! Take a field trip to the Granary to be an artist for the day. New theme daily. Two sessions available for many options! Register for one day or more. Held at the Granary Rural Cultural Center. Bring a sack lunch. Optional shuttle transportation provided from museum to Granary.
