This position directs the operations of the Brown County Jail.

To assist the Curator of Collections with artifact and archive management.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is looking for certified law enforcement officers to work security detail at the 2024 Brown County Fair starting August 12th through August 18th. We are looking to fill morning, afternoon, and overnight security shifts at the Brown County Fair. The shifts include working security at the rodeo, the concerts, the grandstands, the midway, and the fairgrounds.

This position is responsible for the prosecution of criminal cases, for representing the State of South Dakota in court, and for providing legal advice to Brown County, SD. Candidates for this position may be designated “Senior Deputy State’s Attorney”, depending upon education and experience.

This position is responsible for the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors at the county jail. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Senior Detention Officer.”

This position is responsible for providing health services to inmates in the county jail.
