Tours of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibit: Spark! Places of Innovation from 11am to 1pm. Program to begin at 1pm with speakers from the Groton community. The DPM has chosen Groton, SD, to highlight as a vibrant, innovative Brown County community in a special 3-part display: “Groton, Past, Present and Future” which complements the Smithsonian traveling exhibition themes. The Groton exhibit opens October 5, a week before “Spark!” and will feature historic glass-plate images of 1890s Groton Main Street, a photojournalist’s view of Groton today, and poster contest entries from Groton students expressing their vision and hope for Groton’s future.
