Brown County Community Day
Saturday, October 12, 2024
“Spark! Places of Innovation” highlights innovation in rural America from the perspective of the people who live there. The exhibition features stories and images from over 30 communities across the nation. These communities examined their assets, characteristics, people, resources and history to tackle challenges with creative solutions and chart new directions for the future. Through photographs, hands-on interactives, objects and videos, “Spark!” presents the leaders, challenges, successes and future impact of innovation in each town.
Spark! Exhibit opening day, October 12, will coincide with a special event at DPM: “Brown County Community Day.” The event includes tours of the exhibit and an open invitation to all citizens of communities in Brown County and their civic representatives, with special guest Bea Smith, director of the Northern Innovation and Start Up Center speaking at 1pm. The presentation will conclude with a roundtable discussion during which those in attendance are invited to share their town’s own unique success stories and innovative community-centered ideas, or just listen to the great ideas and be inspired!
