This position is responsible for the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors at the county jail. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Senior Detention Officer.”
This position performs technical duties in support of the county’s weed and pest control program. This is a seasonal position, generally scheduled from May through October as needed. Overtime may be required based on operational demands.
This position provides administrative support for the attorneys in the State’s Attorney’s Office.
This position performs technical duties in the maintenance and processing of jail records and in the provision of support for a variety of jail operations.
This position performs technical duties in the maintenance and processing of a variety of department records, forms, and financial transactions.
This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in support of county landfill operations.
This position is responsible for the representation of individuals who cannot afford legal representation in criminal cases, abuse and neglect cases, juvenile cases, mental health and involuntary committal cases where the new Brown County Public Defender’s Office has been appointed to represent them. Candidates for this position may be designated “Senior Deputy Public Defender”, depending upon education and experience.
