Tuesday, December 9, at 11am, join us for a ribbon cutting event! The Rosemarie & Dean L. Buntrock Gallery will present animals from around the globe in an interactive and immersive educational format. Upon entering the museum's lobby, visitors will be greeted by the denizen of the prairie, a full bison mount. Informational panels throughout will provide insights into the gallery and its collection, inviting visitors to learn about the incredible biodiversity of our planet. Guests will encounter animals native to North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Holiday Open House, Saturday, December 13, 2025, 11am-3pm Join us for a wonderful winter afternoon of holiday cheer at the Dacotah Prairie Museum’s annual Holiday Open House. Enjoy festive treats while strolling through Christmas Tree Lane’s “Yule be in my Heart” display. Listen to live music, have a visit with jolly ol’ St. Nick, decorate a sugar cookie, create make-&-take ornaments for all ages and view the Museum exhibits all decked-out for the holidays. It’s the magic of the season at your Dacotah Prairie Museum in historic downtown Aberdeen. Free admission!
