"Museum College" Adult Workshops

Learn the art of artifact preservation. Four workshops offered to teach laypeople how to preserve family heirlooms. Space is limited, first come - first registered. These workshops are free of charge thanks to a community grant from 3M Corporation.

- how to prepare, wrap, and store heritage fiber/clothing.

- how to encapsulate documents for preservation and how to store 3D objects.

- how to clean and store/display artwork to minimize environmental (air, dust & humidity) damage.

- how to store, display and catalog family photos.


"Mondays in March" Children's Workshops

Each March the Museum hosts a series of school-age art workshops in conjunction with the seasonal children's exhibits. This year's traveling children's exhibit is "TreeHouses" from the Sciencenter of Ithaca, NY.  Learn all about tree habitat, animals and insects that live in trees, and how trees and humans work together. Feb. - Apr. 2020
Space is limited. This is a free workshop for children ages 6 to 13.

Time: 3:30 - 4:30pm

What's it like to be a Museum Curator? How are artifacts handled and stored? What are the stories behind the Museum's exhibits?

Join us for a day of Curator Camp and be a Museum Curator.

Inspiration awaits! Take a field trip to the Richmond Youth Camp to be an artist for the day. New theme daily. Two sessions available for many options! Register for one day or more.
Busing provided for up to 14 students. Bring a sack lunch.
