Mondays, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2020, 3:30-4:30pm

Join us for weekly school-age art workshops at the Dacotah Prairie Museum. Every Monday in March, 3:30-4:30pm. Grades 1 to 6, ages 7 to 13.

Art projects are themed to match the current traveling exhibit "TreeHouses: Look Who's Living in the Trees" from the Sciencenter of Ithaca, NY. This is an exhibit with two accessible indoor TREE HOUSES! Children will learn about the animals that call trees home and spend time with many activity stations. Adults will enjoy the many details incorporated into the structures that will entertain and educate.
Students are asked to dress in paint and art project clothing.
NO CHARGE but limited spaces available. If your child cannot attend for any reason please call the DPM at 605.626.7117 as soon as possible as there may be a wait list for other students.

March 2: Tracks are everywhere around trees to find and follow. Plaster cast an animal or bird track to take home.
March 9: Animals and birds live in trees, why not us? Build a clay 3-D Dream Tree House!
March 16: Create a fabric mask of a woodland animal that lives in trees to wear - and draw a picture of its home.
March 23: Paint an image of a Black-Capped Chickadee in its natural tree environment.
March 30: Fashion a majestic tree on a background of exploding rainbow colors.
